Flying primarily with DJI's Mavic 3 Pro Cine series, and with training and authorisations to work in UK, EU and US, I often combine drone flying with the sound recording role in small crew factual TV production. (Not at the same time if you don't mind!!)
My passion for drone flying goes back 9 years, during which time I have also flown the heavier Inspire series as a one and two person setup. Until recently, despite it's weight, the Inspire has had the advantage of having interchangeable lenses, but since the release of the Mavic 3 Pro, with 3 lenses built in to the gimbal camera, the convenience of its smaller form means I invariably fly the Mavic now.
Having the correct qualifications for the country is one thing, however sites of filming interest can often be off-limits to drones. I have frequently been able to fly at locations such as Angkor Wat in Cambodia, by working closely with local fixers and demonstrating meticulous flight planning and safety measures.
